MY SADNESS increased with each passing day. My thoughts were filled with my boyfriend and I worried over my fate.

The previous night, I caught him with another girl and my life now seems shattered. Deep down I knew that things would never be the same again. Something within me died with the knowledge that he had betrayed me.

Somehow I do realised that there was actually no romance between us. We were more like two close friends. Strange that I should even thought of that when it’s clear it was all over.

I had asked him the last time we met who is the latest girl to fill his life. I had laughed when he told me the answer. I thought it was me he had referred to.

No doubt I had seen him with different girls during the past few months but I knew he was not serious with any of them. Furthermore, I was always repeatedly told by him that he had no intention of getting serious with anyone in particular except to be always with me.

That night was an eye-opener for me. The pain that I felt when I saw them together was enough to kill me. They were holding hands, engrossed in a world of their own. They had even walked past me, hardly noticing my presence. She was blonde, wide-eyed and beautiful.

Now, I’m experiencing loneliness in my life. At times I wondered if I’d ever win him back. You see, that night I discovered I love him – Rose
