Saw you again but this time I really didn’t dare to give you the message. This because I have tried it out on other girl and I found that the result is negative!

Actually, before you come in the reading room, I noticed a girl that is quite cute and pretty which I decided to choose her as testing. I just want to proof to myself that I dare to break the ice. Beside that I also want to know whether this method of getting to know girl can be successful or not!

I spotted her sitting a few tables away in front of me. Since she is cute I didn’t miss the chance staring at her. After a few moment she received my signal and knew that somebody is watching her. She began to feel uneasy but anyway she played the ‘game’ with me.

Each time I looked at her, she sure stare back. This carry on for sometime. And at last I’m pretty sure of myself that she’ll ‘accept’ me as her friend. Without wasting anytime I made the first moved! I re-wrote the message  (that I decided to give to you) on another piece of paper.

You know something, while writing I can feel that my heart beat increased and my hand shivering. All of sudden, I don’t know why I began to feel uneasy!

When I finished with the note, I took all my courage to approach her and passed her the note. Then I quickly back to my seat! My heart beat even faster. It seem like jumping out right through my mouth!! More worse, my hands and legs began to shivering and trembling even more.

At the same time I saw her taking the note and read it. I tried to cool myself down but I just can’t stand the situation, I walked out of the room. I feel relax a bit but…. when I went back to the room again the same thing happened! Anyway I managed to keep myself ‘cool’ this time.

When I didn’t see any response from her. I knew I got the wrong interpretation of her body language. She just flirting with me only. It is so embarrassed and I wonder where I should hide myself when I see her again.

A few moment later I saw a boy went in the room and goes to her place. They chit chat for a while and out of the room, she goes with him. “No wonder there is no response from her, she already have a boyfriend! Stephen, Stephen you’re so dump!!” I told myself.

After those first experience, I goes for dinner and this is the time I saw you. I dare not pass you the note and I thought, “I better kept it a side for the next few days. I don’t want to face with two rejections at the same day.”

9:30AM – Saw you outside the reading room flipping through a note pad. I quickly went inside the room and began cracking my brain to write something on a piece of paper. (And this time it is myself instead of Chong) The note contains an information of myself, school etc.

When I finished writing it I kept it on my pocket and walked out of the room. Thought of given it to you right away but you already gone. What a wasted golden opportunity!

12:15PM – Met you again. I didn’t dare to give it to you cos’ fear of rejection. Beside that you are talking with a friend. Once again I ‘missed’ the opportunity.

2:00PM – For this year, this the first time I saw you again. You came in the Reading Room 1 and straight walked to your seat and sat down. After all these months I didn’t ever dream before that I will come to met you again in the same building! You just lost out my sight since I last saw you in August 1983!

As you carried on your revision, I wonder why you sat on the place reserved for the Library Supervisor. As I knew, only Supervisor on duty will take the seat. ( I noticed once a guy being ‘chase’ off when he occupy the seat!) Well, anyway I didn’t pay much attention on this and I carried on with my revision.

Once a while I did looked at you. You know something? The more I looked at you the more beautiful you are! Indirectly it did effect my studies. It seem that I can’t forgive myself if I didn’t stare at you.

5:00PM – You still there. I say something to my close friend, Chong. This what I said to him, “Well, look at the girl sitting beside us at the back. Is she beautiful?” (We just sit behind you, facing the wall, and you faced the main hall)

First he didn’t know who I’m talking about. After a few descriptions and informations, he turned toward your direction and then he gave me a nod!

5:30PM – I saw you gone through the attendance book and got it marked. Only then I knew that you are actually the Library Supervisor! And this really gave me an unexpected surprise!

When you have checked through the book you passed it to me. I took it, wrote my name, school and finally I got it signed. Before I pass the book to somebody else I noticed a girl’s name written on top of the line. ( It is written as Leow Mey Fah and I wonder if it is yours)

Anyway I did memorised it hopefully it is yours! Then I noticed that ‘she’ is a Pre-U student. When I got these ‘information’ I passed the book to the other student. Well, by then my close buddy came up with something else! You know something? He tried to befriend you!! What unexpected move he makes and this really gave me a surprise. Since I knew him, I know that he is a ‘shy’ person, shy than I’m! But now he is a step of me. Can you imagine that? Anyway I’m one hundred percent sure that he dare not to approach you!! And I am right!!

Let me tell you what he is doing… well, first of all he writes his particulars like name, school etc on a piece of paper. (He thought that to know you by this method was really a good idea.) Then he got the paper folded nicely…. and ready to give it to you but he ended it up in the dustbin beside us!! Ha! Ha! I just can’t stop laughing and began to tease him.

[I love this kind of games! I love to be a college student. And most of all I love campus life. You have all the funs all the time without somebody else stopping you. It's freedom.

Even though ours examinations just around the corner we haven't really serious about it. Still fooling around. I remembered once that we (5 of us - Shee Keong, Cheok, Chong, Francis & Me) are nuts!! [(No matter where we goes ie in canteen, movies, bowling, squash, parties, lecture-room etc) we always in a group of five. Our lecture mates named us 5 Lucky Stars.

We got this title from a comedian movies. It just a coincidence that there are 5 person too - in that group! And we get a lot of attention from our friends. Once they mention 5 Lucky Stars everybody knew who we are!!]

I said that we are nuts was because we just can’t miss the good show in town and we really go for it in the thunder storm riding bike! Even though we knew that it will be screened for the next 2 weeks but we just couldn’t wait.

We did bumped into our lecture-mates on the traffic light. They are in the college bus and they all laughed at us just to see us wet in the heavy rain!! The girls said that we are really crazy.

On reaching the cinema we all wet from head to toe. The rain water dripped from our shirt and trouser. It seem that we are just swimming in the pool with our shirt on! Everybody kept their eyes on us but we couldn’t care much. All we care was get the tickets and have a nice sit on the chairs.

When the show start, every patrons have a comfortable seat on their chairs while we started trembling and shivering for the next hour!!”

Actually one of my lecture-mate knew you. That what he said. First I don’t believe him but he seem like knowing a lot about you. And at last I got to believe what he said.

He said you are from Bahau and if he is not mistaken, your surname is “Leow” (He even spelled it out for me!) This made me pretty sure that I struck right on the spot!! What I actually hope turned out to be truth. I guessed your name correctly!

When we goes for dinner at TBR (Taman Bunga Raya) I tried my best to persuade him to introduce you to me but guessed what? He gave me so many reasons! He said that he knew you not long lah, didn’t close to you lah, communicate with you just for a few times lah, it’s won’t nicelah and etc. This really made me frustrated. As long as I knew, he seem like didn’t interested in introducing you to me. So selfish! “So what? It’s wouldn’t end of the world if I didn’t know you.” I told myself.

Well anyway, deep in my heart I have a plan. This made me more eagerly to get to know you!! (After dinner, I didn’t see you in the reading room anymore. It was around 7:30PM)

Well, Chong still didn’t give up his idea, he cracked his brain to think of what to write on the paper so that he can give it to you the next time. But once again he ran out of ideas and down it goes to the dustbin for the second time!! I teased him again, “If you don’t know how to write, you better keep it a side. Leave it for me to try the next day.” Ha! Ha! I laughed. Sound like challenging him and he got frustrated.
