After getting the Canon EOS 1000D’s battery charged for 1 1/2 hours, at 10:30PM (2010) I drove to i-City through Duke Highway, passing by Sungai Buloh – Klang Highway and lost somewhere between Bukit Jelutong and Shah Alam area. How can it be? I have been to i-City 3 times before but this time I totally lost? (Maybe it is time to get a Papago GPS?)

My intention to be at i-City tonight is to capture fireworks display with the newly bought Canon camera. The reason I have chosen i-City this year is because I thought that it will be great to watch the fireworks display over the glittering trees but at that moment I am still desperately seeking the way out from Shah Alam!

As I passed by Concorde Shah Alam, I  looked at my watch and it is already 11:30PM! Half an hour to go before the countdown. By the time I saw the road sign to i-City, I am so happy as I finally found the way. I excitedly drove toward the direction.

The joy is cut short and this is when the nightmare began! Ahead of me are 3 straight line of traffics, about several hundred of vehicles jamming bumper to bumper  crawl toward the same direction! I was caught there and became a turtle crawling along the cars. No place to u-turn, no junctions to escape in order for me to become a rabbit.  At the same time … time tickling away fast and it is almost 12:00AM!

It is 11:55PM by the time I crawl near to an exit junction, I quickly turned left to escape the nightmare. No point to continue to jam there as the show will begin any moment as minutes tickling by and getting nearer to 2011 New Year.

As I drove along the quiet road, I heard the fireworks booming sound and from a far I just saw some smokes only.   It seem that no firework display for me during this new year. If I knew this will be happened, I better be at KLCC / Dataran Merdeka or Sunway Lagoon. At least I still able to take some firework pictures but this midnight… Hapuk pun tarak (Dust also don’t have…. smoke got la!)

Though I have escaped the terrible jam, I still have problem of how to go to Federal Highway. It almost 12:20AM by the time I am finally at the highway. I passed by Midvalley and headed to Cheras. Later I turned left to Sungei Besi – Kuala Lumpur Highway and got caught in another jam along Jalan Tun Razak right in front of Hotel WW (formerly known as Hotel Wenworth)

I escaped the jam through Hulu Kelang – Ampang Highway. Cutting out to Setiwangsa and then headed to Wangsa Maju. Finally I reached home at 1:45AM (2011) Rather tiring when you are caught in traffic jam and travel on roads for nothing for 1 years! One year? Not 1 year meh? From 10:30PM (2010) to 1:40AM (2011) What a stupid calculation! Ha! Ha!
