“Dear” How You View This Word?

Filed under: Caroline,couple,dear,love,man,Men,woman,women — Tags: , , , , — Stephen @ 3:11 am

“DEAR” is the formation of 4 alphabets “D”, “E”, “A”, “R” in capital letters, “d”, “e”, “a”, “r” in small letters. When all these alphabets combined together it will form the word “DEAR” or “dear” Ok… After the creation of this word… how you view it? First let check what the dictionary have to say about this word.

1.    beloved or loved: a dear friend.
2.    (used in the salutation of a letter as an expression of affection or respect or as a conventional greeting): Dear Sir.
3.    precious in one’s regard; cherished: our dearest possessions.
4.    heartfelt; earnest: one’s dearest wish.
5.    high-priced; expensive: The silk dress was too dear.
6.    charging high prices: That shop is too dear for my budget.
7.    excessive; high: a dear price to pay for one’s independence.
8.    Obsolete. difficult to get; scarce.
9.    Obsolete. worthy; honorable.
10.    a person who is good, kind, or generous: You’re a dear to help me with the work.
11.    a beloved one.
12.    (sometimes initial capital letter) an affectionate or familiar term of address (sometimes offensive when used to a stranger, subordinate, etc.)
13.    dearly; fondly.
14.    at a high price: That painting cost me dear.
15.    (used as an exclamation of surprise, distress, etc.): Oh dear, what a disappointment! Dear me! What’s all that noise?

That what the dictionary have explained and now my story about this word. I recalled back I first used this word during “snail mail” correspondence when I was a teenager (in the 80s) where having pen-friends is  a hot wave that moment. Most magazine have a special column listed out people name and address for those who like to have friends through letter writing. If you like to write, you can make lot of friends. That moment no computer, no internet, no broadband, no mobile, no SMS. All you need is lot letter pads, stamps and envelopes.

I will always start like this…. (some example Smile )

Dear Caroline,

I have found your name and address in (magazine name) and like to be your friend … bla blah… etc

As I don’t know whether the person I wrote to will reply or not… 1st letter always short and just simple introduction. Then for the next person… I will copy everything again… the only thing changed is the name and address. Wink Why copy? When you don’t have photostat machine… this the only way to do it. That moment I also knew that if photostat…. people who received it will know that you are not sincere.

After finished everything then I will be very busy putting stamps on the envelope and the next day I pushed everything inside the mailbox at the post office. I always knew when I need to buy the stamps again Smile Then what next? Sit at home and wait loh… it took around 3 to 7 days to get replied during those days.

Because of large bulk of letters sent out sure the one who replied will be many though not 100% replied! The moment I saw those letters…. so excited loh but to reply all is the nightmare! Receiving is fun but writing back lazy.. so how? Finally have to choose the best introduction, then only replied and those “not qualified” goes in the dustbin.

From 1 piece to 2 then 3… and so on. My record was 15 pieces in a replied. From the word “Dear Caroline” became “Dearest Caroline” (now knew how to add the “est” to the end of “dear” word to made it “dearest”. Wah say! The receiver also change from “Dear” to Dearest”

1st letter end with “Yours sincerely” later became “Yours” Smile Because too long so finally lazy to even write “sincerely” so just omit it. This when “Yours” came to light! The other party also the same… Ha! Ha! When I am in Form 1… school life was easy going… no much activities and homeworks but when you go Form 2… things became to change… more schoolworks…. writing letter aslo take longer.

First…. replied the same day after received but later it drag to 3 days only reply then 1 weeks… 2 weeks later 1 month. This is when one shot I wrote up 15 pages so do my pen friends. We getting busier when we grew older and finally it just end there. We never meet and some just stopped when shifted to new places. Just lost contact. That was the day when writing and receiving letters was fun. Gone are those days. Nowadays “snail mail” became less popular.

Then come the 90s where people getting crazy about mobile phone or even fixed line (home) phone. I remembered that when you flipped open any magazine you can find people easily displayed their phone numbers in search of friendship. When home fixed line for local calls are flat rate. that time.. my record of conversation was 8 hours non stop… from 12 midnight to 8am until the holder of the phone & ears  also burning HOT.. why not hot…? Talked until nothing to talk… taboo thing also come in. What taboo things? The one SX18 naughty naughty one lah… he! he! Wink That moment not only “dear” or “dearest” …. honey, sayang, love, baby also come in…  until your whole body have goose bump when you listen to it!  Ha! Ha! Gone was the time for “cooking phone porridge” => (hook on the phone non stop) when Telekom review it local calls and chargeable by minutes.

Then come the internet and email where you can send smiley code, picture, movies to add more personal touch but was spoiled by the spam mails you received. Your dear dear email lost in several thousand junk mails Frown Now more people prefer to SMS rather than email.

What I try to tell now is about these points when referring to the word “Dear”

11.    a beloved one.
12.    (sometimes initial capital letter) an affectionate or familiar term of address (sometimes offensive when used to a stranger, subordinate, etc.)

What women want? ( Or what men want or don’t want? )

  1. When you have a lover or girl friend, she will complain you did not love her enough when you less “dear”, “dear” her. You cannot even miss out the “dear” word in your SMS. If you do, your ears will suffer.
  2. For those women you like (that not yet become your girl friend) you cannot “dear”, “dear” her. Initially, just before you used the word “dear” she replied your SMS. Later when you add the “dear” word in your SMS, she did not reply. If you send her more “dear”, “dear” words… She ignore you. She began to think… you’re not my special… why “dear”, “dear” me?
  3. For those woman (name as “A”) who like you, she will “dear”, “dear” you until you “beh tahan!” (cannot compromise) If you not like her, you are the one ignoring her and you continue “dear”, “dear” the woman you like (name as “B”) but she does not attracted or even like you. You in return being ignored. Finally A get hurt and disappointed by your reaction, you are getting hurt by B reaction while she being happy with the one who love her (whom she also like)

Why this happen? Why “dear” word became so sensitive in man woman relationship today? “Dear” is just an English word but why are you so complicated?

Lastly my final comment is…. I don’t mind women “dear”, “dear” me Wink Smile either she like me or not but surely I do mind when men who “dear”, “dear” me as it give me goose bump all over my body. Come on! I am a straight. I LIKE & LOVE ONLY woman! Of course I like to “dear”, “dear” the woman I like…. does she like or not was another story

My Ideal Woman! Who Is She?

The woman that I want is very simple. I believed what I have blogged here, do have in many women out there but why it is so hard to find? I don’t expect her to be Miss Malaysia, Miss World or Miss Universe. [But if she is I don’t mind either Smile] All I want was a woman that willing to work with me as a team and building our future together. Is that too much to ask? But in reality, this fact remained as a fact. It is difficult to love someone (when your love is one way traffic) and it is even more difficult to get someone to love you.

I may not rich, not have any diamond ring, not even a 5C or a 7C guy or the one that any women willing to fight and die for. If you are those woman that have married to the man that have all these (5C or 7C), try to recall back when was your last vacation with him. If he ever take you on vacation every years, I may congratulate you as you reallly have found your prince charming. If not, I feel pity for you because your so called dream guy not the one you really have dreamed for. Even worse … if he willing to spend his wealth on other women that are much more younger than you. If he is not fooling around, he may not have any free time at all to spend with you as he may too busy with his business.

But if you believed that I can take you on abroad of some exotic cruises in this world then maybe I still worth your consideration to be your other half, as I do have an opportunity that can realised this dream. So any woman out there want to be with me to make this dream posibble?

What Women Want?

Scenerio 1
While driving back after work today I saw a couple walking by the road side. The lady followed the guy from behind while her boyfriend pushing the broken down bike. (Looked like college students to me) The lady seem like holding camera phone direct to her boyfriend (maybe shooting a short video clip or snapping pictures of her boyfriend pushing the bike) for her blog? or to keep it as a souvenir of this unforgettable experience yet she still giggling even facing this situation. After I passed by the couple I began to think…. what a lucky guy riding bike also have girlfriend while I have car also no one want me as her boyfriend! Maybe I should changed to motorbike? Maybe not…. I don’t even have have a motorbike license!

Scenerio 2
After supper I saw even more couples holding hands walked pair by pair back to their home. Lucky guys again? No bike, no car still have women by their side. Then maybe I should drive no car and  began to walk but I remembered walking the same path many times… many years (I almost 43 by  this December) but still walking alone. No women walked side by side with me also? Maybe I should crawl? Ha! Ha! Just like Spiderman… Even Spiderman have Mary Jane.

Scenerio 3
This happened in front of my eyes just inside a restaurant at Seremban. That moment I was having dinner with my mum. A pretty lady, sexy also walked  by! I definitely will look mah. She is on her way to washroom. When she came back… she sat right beside a guy almost 1 1/2 time of my size!  I am already 73kgs (over weight a bit…. if based on my height of 5′ 7″) Imagine that a super obese guy like him also have great girlfriend. You call him lucky? You should! I have average body and with this kind of height almost near perfect (just a bit of “spare tyre” on the tummy only mah…) also don’t have perfect girlfriend! May be I should go super obese too? But bad news…. I am the type of people most will get jealous…. I can eat a lot but won’t grow fat (but can add a bit more “spare tyre” loh Ha! Ha! Smile

You may asked….. how he look? Ok, quite good looking…. just super obese. Me also quite good looking mah. You may say he might be rich! Maybe… as his clothing doesn’t seem like  from pasar malam one. If this the case then I cannot compare loh… me not rich mah. If he is rich then this guy lucky loh because he was born with a golden spoon stuck up in his mouth.

But what if he is not rich then, and this woman still like him? Then I can only give you one answer, “Have you  ever heard that love is blind? Based on her look and her body, if ask this woman to annouce that she  need a boyfriend I believe there will be men que from start to the end of road, which have better body frame or maybe some may be rich too (if she into materialistic relationship)  But why she still want this guy? I don’t mean to discriminate fat people but what I try to say is… If you have the choice to choose why him? Cheekily I thought…. if she really married to him… while make love who should on top leh Smile and heard that obese guy have short … short what? Smile (I heard from friends during my college time loh! Is it true?) If it is, she may satisfied meh?

Then suddenly my mum interupted my cheeky mind… then told me, “See… a guy like him also have girlfriend. And you already an “old man” also cannot find one. Keep on chosylah….  then you die one day without a wife and childrens then you know!” I said, “Ma… not me chosyloh. Women choose me ma. I want to choose also don’t have”

So any women who read this want to be this “old man” wife and willing to have children with him so his mother wishes to see him get married and have grandchildren come through (just before the end journey of her life? )

Scenerio 4
I saw these many times, pretty, gorgeous, sexy lady (some even models) fall in love with a guy that almost matched this description “Beauty & The Beast” It really make me wonder, why? Till now I still cannot get the answer. Look around, still many good looking guys mah ? (I’m also not bad mah!) If the answer you give me is “money” loh.  Well… if because of money…. many good looking or average looking guys also have money mah, why chose someone when people seen them together, they have this question, “This world don’t have men liow meh? She is so pretty and sexy yet he is so ugly! Then people added this, if not… disneyland where got story “Beauty & The Beast” woh?

Once again I does not mean to discriminate but I salute those men. They can win the heart of real beauty that made every good looking & average men jealous. I also jealous… I want this kind of beauty also don’t have…. maybe never have…. because my face not look like one mah… I still an average looking guy… bitter and sour smile.

Scenerio 5
Why some woman still want to love a guy even though knowing him that he have married, already have a wife? This woman also knew for sure that once his legal wife find out the relationship, surely a hell will break loose, why risk this and get into unnecessary trouble? This world no more single guys meh? Take a look, many single guys around still cannot find a girlfriend or a wife. Some already 40++ I am one of them. Frown

Scenario 6

Of all those scenarios above now I wondering if “love really blind” or women “blinded” their eyes when in love?

Aiiii … love thing really complicated. When you are alone, you wonder why no one loved you. When you in loved, you complained your partner take you for granted, not care for you, not love you enough, not understand you or worse emerging of a 3 triangle love!
