5:15 PM, after work, I went into a Sports Toto outlet to purchased some tickets for today draw.  To be an instant millionaire dream still not yet died in me. I am a bit concern of the H1N1 outbreak, but not too worried about it. I have put on a face mask before goes in the shop.

You may said, “Do you think it is so easy to get H1N1 like striking a jackpot ah?” Well… striking jackpot is definitely not easy though or else many Malaysian have became instant millionaire but to get H1N1 is much more easy as the numbered of cases have been increased by days. Not forgetting the death toll too! This number have changed many times! Each time it changed, the number getting bigger and for sure that moment…. somebody out there…. will loose a love one in the family. If not because of this H1N1, he or she might lived on for another few years or so.

When in the shop, I have noticed that tonight is the final night for Leslie Cheung & Anita Mui Singing Competitions and will be held at Times Square Boulevard on 7:00PM tonight. Since I am free  from now onward, I have decided to attend this event.

After purchasing the draw tickets, I went back to the car, took out the mask, power down a bit of the car windscreen, set the alarm to 6:00PM and took a short nap. When the alarm set on, I woke up. I went to the 7-11 shop to buy 2 packets of batteries for my digital camera. Then I have my dinner at nearby mamak restaurant. A plate of rojak and a glass of teh ais.

I drove to Times Square and reached there around 6:40PM. It take me about 5 minutes to go round and round the car park in order to get a parking space. I put on the same mask I have used, snapped the parking location then goes in the mall. I saw many people there still did not wear face mask except some. I am one of them. I did not belong to high risk chronic group (ie: obese, diabetes, heart problem, asthma) I have increased intake of Nutrilite food supplements & vitamins (from Amway) I believed my immune system is better than many that did not take the supplements. If I cannot die of this disease, it is not fun to be quarantine for a week or two as I have many things waiting for me to do. So I just did not want to take thing for granted. If other don’t even concern about it (which is not my problem) I should learn to take care of my own self. If I did not do it who can help me then?

When I am in the mall, I did not see any place indicating there is a singing competition to be held there. Am I coming to the right place? Is this Times Square Boulevard located at the same place as this mall or there is another place in KL called “Times Square Boulevard” I checked with the information counter and the staff told me it is on the ground floor main entrance. When I reached there I noticed that ticket is required for entry. I asked one guy there where to get the entry ticket and how much. He said no need to pay for it but you need to have the ticket to get a seat. A coincidence that he said he have 1 extra ticket and he gave it to me. So lucky for me.

After saying thank you to him I took the ticket and goes to washroom. On the way I stopped a while to snap the picture of the ticket. An aunty saw me taking the photo asked me where do I have the ticket. I said someone at the entrance gave it to me. I asked her if she going to watch the competitions, she said no as she need to go somewhere else around 7:30PM

As I goes back to the entrance to look for my seat, I saw the man (that given me the ticket) already there with his family. I sat down and took some pictures but the stage is so far away. Even maximum zooming from my camera did not give me good pictures. The show have started by some dance. I recorded part of the dance.

I noticed that the area where people standing is much more nearer to the stage. I asked the security guard on duty if I can go to there. He nodded his head as an ‘OK’ signal. I quickly grabbed the souvenirs that was put on my chair by the sponsors (ie a car stickers by 988 fm, a plastic fold able fan and a participant lists by Sport Toto)

I moved out the place because 1) it it heaty there (no wonder the sponsor supplied the plastic fan ) 2) I want to get nearer to the stage. I quickly brought those souvenirs down the car park so that I can put it on the car. Those items on my hands will prevent me to take pictures and do the video clips recording. If I did not have it on my hands, I will be free to move around.

By the time I came back, the 1st participant already started his song and almost finished. I quickly recorded the short clip just before he go down the stage. As I looked around at the place people standing, I am the only one there with the face mask. As I further looked at the place where most people seated, there I saw quite a number of people with the face mask there. So I am not alone though.

Listening to contestants performing Leslie Cheung’s song, myself and those people seated there wearing the face mask brought me back many memories. I remembered clearly an image where Hong Kong was hit by SAR (2003) and at the same moment when Leslie left us (jumped to his death) and how the fans wearing the face mask queing along the roadside sending him off.
